FIREFIGHTERS in South Yorkshire have issued a warning about how quickly outdoor fires can spread after they spent over two-and-a-half hours battling a grass fire in Sheffield.
Crews were called to tackle the blaze on Bradfield Dale which quickly spread to involve over 100 square metres of grassland.

The blaze, just off Mortimer Road, was only contained after local estates staff joined forces to put out the blaze using their eight-wheeled all-terrain 'argocat' vehicles, alongside Rivelin fire station's hose reel jet.

The blaze took hold at around 7.30pm last Thursday evening.
