Two crashes in 10 minutes on motorway

TWO collisions within the space of 10 minutes meant delays on the M1 in South Yorkshire this morning.
A HGV and two cars collided on the northbound stretch between junction 31 at Aughton and 32 at Thurcroft just before 7am.

And just before 7.10am a Vauxhall Tigra collided with the central reservation on the northbound stretch between junctions 32
at Thurcroft and 33 at Catcliffe.

At around 1.25am a lorry and a car collided on the northbound stretch between junctions 30 at Barlborough and 31 at Aughton.

- A power cut affecting parts of Sheffield yesterday afternoon led to a traffic light failure on City Road, Manor Top, causing chaos for rush-hour motorists. The electricity problems affected areas including Manor and Arbourthorne.

- Tram services were temporarily affected in Gleadless, Sheffield, at 7pm last night after a tram and car collided on White Lane. No-one was hurt.

- Police are investigating after a fire broke out in a cafe on Wolseley Road, Sharrow, Sheffield, in the early hours of this morning.
