Two charged with assault

TWO teenagers have been charged with serious assault following an incident in Sheffield in which a university student was seriously injured.
The boys, aged 15 and 16, who are both from Sheffield, are due before Sheffield Magistrates' Court today.

The incident happened on West Street in the city centre at around 2am on Wednesday.

An 18-year-old male and a 17-year-old female questioned by police in relation to the incident have been released on bail pending enquiries.

Victim Adrian Shield, aged 21, last night remained in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital where he remains poorly but slightly improved.
