TRIBUTES have been paid to a Sheffield woman killed in a collision with a fire engine answering a hoax 999 call - with friends describing her as a wonderful mum.
Messages of condolence have been paid to 36-year-old Nicola Stacey on The Star's website after the tragedy on Sunday night.
The mum-of-two, of Valentine Crescent, Shiregreen, was driving a Subaru Impreza which was in a collision with a 14-tonne en
gine at the junction of Weedon Street and Attercliffe Common.
She died at the scene and her 10-year-old daughter Lauren, a pupil at Hartley Brook Primary School, was seriously injured and is now fighting for her life. One message left by women called Debs and Jo, who used to babysit for Nicola and her sisters when she was a child, says: "So sorry you've gone Nicola - may God answer our prayers and let Lauren be okay."

It says: "Nicola was a parent visitor at Hartley Brook playgroup a few years ago now, and was always a happy, kind and funny young mum - always had a smile for everyone.
"My thoughts and prayers are with Nicola's family and Lauren at this very sad time."
A woman, who used to attend Firth Park School with Nicola, said: "I got to know her really well - proud to have known you Nic. The world will not be the same now you're not in it."
Natalie Burnside, from Shiregreen, said: "Nicola was a great woman - our thoughts are with all the family."
One tribute describes Nicola as a "perfect angel" another as "a dedicated mum and wife" and another as "a good friend".
A 17-year-old Rotherham youth has admitted making three hoax 99 calls - one of which led to the tragedy - and will be sentenced at Doncaster Youth Court later this month.
