A PEDESTRIAN who died after being struck by a car as he walked to Sheffield train station was a railway enthusiast who wrote for a specialist magazine published in the city.
Robin Sisson, aged 51, was on his way from work to catch a train to take him home to Bradford when he was hit by a Toyota at the junction of Queens Road and Myrtle Road 10 days ago.
To leave a message of condolence, click hereThe former teacher from Saltaire, who worked at Bradford Grammar School before turning his passion for railways into a career, was assistant editor of Today's Railways UK - a magazine based on Sark Road, Heeley.
Mr Sisson is said to have been instrumental in the reopening of Frizinghall railway station in Bradford and had campaigned for rail users' interests across the county and further afield.
He had worked in Sheffield at Today's Railways UK for two years.
Editor-in-chief Peter Fox said: "We are all gutted, we are devastated by it. He had been working late and was walking to the station when this happened. He will be sorely missed."
A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been bailed until early August.
