THE newest arrival at South Yorkshire's Tropical Butterfly House may only be a small baby - but he's definitely causing a big stink.
Bumbles the skunk has just been delivered to the North Anston venue and is already attracting a lot of attention despite his smelly reputation.
The nocturnal nine-week-old spends his days with the other animals at the Butterfly House but goes home with a member of staff each evening for some extra care because of his young age.
Manager Kim Bellis said Bumbles loves being cuddled and enjoys skunking around making sure he is centre of attention with all the visitors.
She added: "Much to the staff's amusement Bumbles is already showing his natural instincts which are to stomp around like a moody teenager and displaying his tail trying to scent everything in sight."
There are plenty of other babies at the Butterfly House this summer including fluffy yellow chicks and even a tiny African Pygmy hedgehog who has yet to venture out of his nest box.
The Pygmy parents are so energetic and run so fast staff have had two exercise wheels specially installed to keep them busy.
The old favourites are also keeping the crowds entertained including Stumpy the meer cat and the free roaming iguana who loves putting in surprise appearances.
But it isn't all cute and cuddly at the centre because one new creature certainly not for the faint hearted is the very aggressive Egyptian Solifugid or Camel Spider.
Writing in The Star's online wildlife section Green Scene, Chrissie Jackson described her first encounter with the creature: "What they lack in venom they make up in sheer jaw size and don't hesitate to use them.
"It happily clamped itself onto the stick I was using to nervously coax it into its new home, whilst trilling rather uselessly 'there you go, be a good boy now'.
"Without backing down it menacingly reared up and continued to snap away in a 'you don't scare me!' stance.
"They also happen to be the fastest land invertebrates reaching speeds of up to 10mph, what a nice combination."
