Girl hit by car outside park

A YOUNG girl is in hospital with serious head injuries after she was hit by a car as she left a north Derbyshire park.
The 10-year-old had just left Grassmoor Park, Birkin Lane, Grassmoor, when she was struck by a Vauxhall Corsa.

She was rushed to Chesterfield Royal Infirmary and was later transferred to Sheffield Children's Hospital, where she is in a poorly but stable condition.

Witnesses to the collision, at 1.25pm on Tuesday, should call Derbyshire Police on 0845 1233333.
