Four arrests after drug deal tip-offs

POLICE made four arrests and seized 11 wraps of heroin and cannabis after a tip-off about suspected drug dealing in Barnsley.
Officers were told about suspected deals near a sports shop on Doncaster Road, Barnsley, and discovered three men leaning into the window of a car, which drove off without stopping.

Two of the men at the scene were released after being quizzed wh
ile a 24-year-old, from Barugh Green, Barnsley, was arrested for an unrelated incident of theft and released on bail until December.

Officers tracked down the car on Wortley View, Blackerhill, and the 31-year-old male driver was arrested for possession of heroin with intent to supply, taking the vehicle without consent, driving without insurance and without a driving licence. During a search of his house a small amount of cannabis was also found.

A 33-year-old man, from Blackerhill was also arrested for possession of heroin with intent to supply and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent. About 200 tablets, thought to be diazepam, were found in a search of his home.
