VISITORS to a beauty spot on the outskirts of Sheffield have been urged to stop feeding the ducks because the food is attracting rats to the popular picnic area.
Bradfield Parish Council issued the plea after receiving a letter from three local youths urging them to display more signs asking people not to feed the ducks at the pond in Low Bradfield.
A council spokesperson said: "People have persisted in fe
eding the ducks resulting in more ducks returning to the water. The food is not good for them and the bread is also attracting rats and other vermin."
