SHEFFIELD rockers Def Leppard have been lined up to launch the opening season of the National Hockey League in America.
The multi-platinum-selling rock band will kick off the NHL 2008-09 season on October 9 with an arena spectacular of all their smash hits, plus songs from their latest album 'Songs From The Sparkle Lounge'.
The concert, at the Fox Theatre in Detroi
t, will include a special performance of their arena-inspired hit single 'C'mon, C'mon' - which frontman Joe Elliott claims he always knew would be a hockey arena hit.
Two stateside TV channels will provide live streaming coverage of the concert, letting fans watch around the world.
