M1 clear after smash

A SECTION of the M1 is closed this morning after a smash involving up to seven vehicles.
Police said two accidents had occured right next to each other on the M1 southbound just before junction 37.

Nobody was injured during the crashes which involved at least two vans, a Seat Ibiza and Mini.

Lanes two and three were closed from after 9am and police warned of "standing traffic until backlog clears".

The motorway was clear and back to normal by lunchtime.
