MEMBERS of High Green Miners Welfare have moved to scotch rumours that their community hall is to close.
The Management Group at the Miners Welfare Community Hall contacted The Star to say claims that closure is imminent are untrue.

Secretary Mike Higgins said: "The management group would like to make it clear that, despite rumours, we are not closing the hall. There are no plans to do so in the future."

The hall will continue to stage groups for the elderly, keep fit classes, yoga, karate and a walking group.

There are also plans to introduce social dance events.

Call Kate Higgins on 0114 2848497 for further details.
