YOUNGSTERS from a Sheffield secondary donated £500 to their favourite charity after beating five other schools in the grand final of the Enterprise Charity Challenge.
The team from Handsworth Grange gave the cash to PACT, the Parents' Association for Children with Tumours, at the event organised by Business and Education South Yorkshire.

Also in the final were King Edward VII, Sheffield Park Academy, Tapton, Birkdale and the Foulstone School from Barnsley.

The schools had been fundraising for their nominated charities since October.

The competition was judged on the use of innovative, creative and sustainable ideas to raise money for charity.

The final featured a showcase of the fundraising initiatives each team had completed and student presentations to the judges.

The event was hosted by last year's winners King Edward VII School in Broomhill, who were defending their title after raising over £2,300 last year for Sheffield Children's Hospital.

The judges said: "The winning team was well organised, with involvement from all members and they used their initiative to drive the business forward. Team commitment is paramount."
