THE points deduction that Rotherham United are likely to be hit with today by the Football League could prove decisive in the decision of striker Michael Boulding to look elsewhere.
The 32-year-old Sheffielder, who scored 25 goals for Mansfield last season, has trained with the Millers but has kept them waiting for a decision whilst he assessed other offers.
However, the prospect of the Millers starting on minus 15 points or even minus 20 points, may have persuaded Boulding not to commit himself to a decision over a future with Rotherham.
In any event, he has expressed a desire to play at a higher level and League One Cheltenham are offering him that opportunity after talks with the player and his brother Rory, who has been offered a new deal at Mansfield.
Cheltenham say they are expecting a decision from Boulding in the next few days and with Rotherham likely to hear today of the League's decision on the penalty for failing to exit administration through a CVA, Boulding may decide to head South West rather than accept Rotherham's offer.
