DIRECTOR of football, Mickey Walker is tipping Doncaster Rovers to win through to the League One promotion Play-off Final at Wembley on Sunday week.
Walker, who was at the semi-final first-leg tie at Roots Hall on Friday which finished goalless, is convinced that Rovers have the beating of Southend in the second leg at the Keep-moat Stadium on Friday night.
"I thought that it was a first-class performance under pressure at a ground that you would have to say is not an easy ground to go to," he said.
"Southend are a good side - don't forget they were playing in the Championship last season - and they play good football.
"To be fair to Southend, they set the tempo of the game and made it really high which suited us, whereas at Cheltenham we had to force the pace.
"There will have been a few nerves but we played a lot better than at Cheltenham. Once again we showed that we play better against the better teams.
"Overall I thought that we were the better side on the night territorially and tactically. I thought that we handled the pressure well and there was some good individual performances. Ccollectively, I thought that we were excellent.
"We also had the better chances and if we can put them away this time that would really put us in the driving seat.
"I think that they will be on the back foot now and they'll be more wary of us and they won't fancy the long trip up to Doncaster.
"There will be a very partisan crowd and I'd really like them to get behind us on the night because that could be the difference.
"Everyone in their team is a threat, though it depends on how they play.
"They have got one or two good individuals who can come up with match-winning performances. But I honestly feel that we have got better players than them."
"It will be a very, very tight game but I think that we have the opportunity on our own pitch to seal the win."
"It would be great were we to grab an early goal because that would settle us down but I would also settle for a stoppage-time winner."
