FROM the outside this place doesn't look like your average takeaway joint.
And that's because it's also a bar where you can grab a beer and a burrito perched on a stool at one of the high wooden benches and pretend you're somewhere in South America, not South Yorkshire.
It's decked out in terracotta tiles, with soft lig
hting, and Latin American music plays in the background.
It's a bit like a Mexican, upper class Subway.
Our group went for two burrito flour tortillas (tortilla with pinto or black beans, coriander lime rice and choice of meat or vegetables) and two beanless burritos (with pepper, onions and oyster mushrooms instead of beans).
Then you pick your filling - there's chicken, pork, two types of steak and a vegetarian option. We opted for two parilla chicken (marinated in paprika and a Mexican blend of spices and flame grilled), a cocido steak (braised in spices, toasted cumin seeds, smoked garlic and oregano) and parilla steak (marinated in lemon crushed fennel and spices).
Finally, you select your topping - for us it had to be the Monterey Jack cheese, sour cream and guacamole but there's also the option of black beans, pinto beans, salsa or coriander lime rice.
Included in your £4.95 meal is a free soft drink.
We added a side of Nachos with guacamole, salsa and sour cream - although were a bit miffed that each topping cost an extra 50p.
Surely Nachos includes those as standard?
But the tortillas were lovely – nothing like the cardboard chips you often buy in the supermarket or chain pubs. Unfortunately this was the only side dish on offer. To make it more like a full evening meal it probably could have done with another added extra.
It would make for a tasty lunch - or, as I suspect is already happening, it's a hot spot for students living in the area who have decided to go for a healthier option.
