IS it Brighton? Barcelona? Some ritzy Mediterranean lido?
No, it's The Forum's new Devonshire Terrace on Devonshire Green.

The Gaudi-esque eating and drinking area, screened off from the street by a swirling concrete wall, was opened in June.

Sadly, with the bad weather, it got off to a very soggy start. It has only come into its own in recent weeks with the sun.

"We can seat 150 and it has been full every day while the weather has been kind to us," says The Forum's design and marketing manager, Patti Crozier-Gray.

It may look like a lido but they don't call it that and the only liquid is in the wine and beer glasses.

But the floor is a watery blue and the designer orange deck chairs are lined up as if on some ocean liner.

"We wanted something that would contrast a little bit," adds Patti.

"Now all we need is a man on an ice cream bicycle."

The terrace is separate from the Forum terrace, which opened several years ago.

It's waitress service and there's a new summer menu of salads, sandwiches, burgers, fish and chips and poached salmon.
