NO more music or tapas for Justin Rowntree's Runaway Girl restaurant and bar after his week-long makeover by Gordon Ramsay.
The multi-starred chef even changed the name of the eatery in Arundel Street to Silversmiths.

And he's installed a bistroey three course menu which works out at just over £20 a head.

There are now tables on the old stage and buckets of herbs in the windows.

The new formula seems to be working. "Business has almost trebled," says Justin.

What happened can be seen on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare's this winter but right now you can sample Ramsay-inspired chilled pea and mint soup or goats cheese and beetroot salad for a fiver, followed by pan braised halibut with chorizo (£13) or venison sausages with red onion marmalade for £12.

A version of these were on offer when Justin and head chef Richard Russell staged a challenge on the bangers eating record in the Peace Gardens last Friday.

Ramsay took charge of the menu.

"He was sitting at the end of the table with a calculator working out the prices, making sure the gross profit was right," says Justin.

Later the chef supervised the relaunch night last Friday.

Justin is happy with the name change.

"It is absolutely a new start," he says.

Silversmiths is open Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm until last orders 9.30pm (10.30pm weekends). Book on 0114 270 6160.
