FORMER Sheffield United defender Kevin Gage has added to his Dronfield nightlife empire.
He's bought the Manor House Hotel on Church Street.

Kevin, who already owns the Blue Stoops pub next door and the Green Dragon 200 yards away, plans to increase the hotel's rooms from 10 to 12, give it a thorough refurbishment and turn it into a boutique hotel.

"I'm spending a lot of money on the rooms which will all be individually designed," he says.

He is also scrapping the Manor's fine dining policy and instead will have a cafe-bar open from 7am-8pm, and then tapas and hot food from early evening. After that, with its leather sofas and wooden floor, it will operate like a Menzels-style upmarket bar. He says it will complement his two pubs which are "loud, up-tempo and in your face pubs, particularly at weekends."

The Manor, a 400-year-old Grade II listed building, has been closed for the last six months. It was on the market for £420,000.
Kevin plans to reopen the Manor in November.
