The dating game isn't just for teenagers.
But when you find yourself single again in your Fifties, you probably don't know where to start looking for another soulmate.

Bars and clubs make you feel like the oldest swinger in town. And when friends play matchmaker, you feel under too much p
ressure.

So how about speed-dating – set up by two single Sheffield fiftysomething women.

"When we found ourselves single, we realised what hard work dating is for older people," says teacher Kate Holmes. "We couldn't find anywhere to meet people where we felt comfortable and relaxed, so we decided to set up our own events.

"We intend to make people feel welcome and to help them learn the new skills that seem to be necessary to negotiate the singles market today."

The first speed-dating night for singles 50 and over will be held at the Beauchief Hotel, Abbeydale Road South, on Thursday, June 5, at 8pm. The evening costs £20, including welcome drinks, and proceeds will go to the Cavendish Cancer Care Centre.

To book a place, call Kate on 07963232803 or Jo on 07999845638. For more details: www.matchventure.co.uk
