WHEN nurse Sylvia Tolentino replied to a job advert asking for staff to work in Britain she never imagined it would lead to a British passport.
Sylvia came to Britain six years ago from the Phillipines with husband Joseph and their toddler Jhoselle, now aged nine.

"At first I worked in Stoke then I transferred to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. We settled in so quickly and people were so welcoming and friendly."

What do you think? Post your comments below.

The couple had another daughter, Izzabelle, eight months ago and settled in Carterknowle, Sheffield. The ceremony means many things to them but in the main, they're relieved their official status has now been resolved.

"I feel British and my husband works as a carer. It's a long way to go home and that's the only drawback.

"We try and go back every two years. I miss my mum but we phone each other.

"I phoned her this morning to tell her about the citizenship ceremony. They were very excited and asked us to take lots of photos."
