IT'S a long, long drive from Cornwall to Chesterfield but West Country funnyman Jethro is well used to hitting the road.
The bloke with an accent as thick as Cornish toffee, who turns 60 this year, leaves his own club in Lewdown on the Cornwall/Devon border to bring his hit and miss rural laughs to The Winding Wheel on May 11. Tickets cost £16.50/£18.

Recently brought into the living rooms of millions as music director and mentor on BBC TV's Classical Star reality series, cellist Matthew Barley has been forced to cancel his eight-concert tour of UK cathedrals and churches.

It was set to hit Sheffield Cathedral on April 26 but on-going shoulder problems have forced the adventurous musican to postpone until 2009.

Sinibaldi,

Italy 27/04/2008 19:59:11
The red carpet of my shoulder.

Early in the
morning, when
gloomy canticles
rejoice in the
sound of the quietness,
I hear a scrupulous
voice on the sun
of a summer, while
a sadness delights
and discovers a care.

Francesco Sinibaldi
