DONCASTER had its very own version of the hairy bikers - when the town centre was invaded by Harley Davidson fans.
An impressive display of 73 gleaming motorbikes was set up in Doncaster Market by the St Leger chapter of the Harley Davidson Owners Club.

And bike owner Sue O'Grady, aged 60, from Sprotbrough, reckons she and her friends shattered any ideas of bikers being rough and ready. She said: "I know that tends to be how people imagine bikers, but really we're big softies!

"It's great when people come up and ask if their children can sit on our bikes!

"We're from all sorts of backgrounds, and we range from doctors to binmen."

The bikers arrived at the market after a ride in a group from White Rose Way and around the town centre.
