A PLANE flying to Doncaster Airport was at the centre of a security scare after a passenger made a shooting gesture with his hand and told a woman passenger: "You are my next victim."
The woman on the flight from Girona in Spain became alarmed because she thought that the man and his two friends looked like terrorists.

Nearly 30 other passengers also became scared and got off the plane.

As more travellers became disturbed, t
he captain asked Spanish police to board the plane. The three young men were removed from the plane because of the incident and told to take a later flight. No arrests were made.

Passenger Bradley Hayes, aged 20, said: “The woman just went hysterical after seeing these three guys.

“A lot of other people were starting to get agitated until the three were taken off.”

The jet was searched to make sure all was safe and eventually took off two hours late.

Ryanair spokeswoman Lorna Farren said: “We don’t comment on security issues.”

Flights from Doncaster Robin Hood airport to Girona-Costa Brava airport in northern Catalonia began in October last year and fly four times a week.

Police at Robin Hood Airport today warned they would not tolerate inappropriate behaviour such as that reported in Spain.

Chief Inspector Nick Whitehouse of Doncaster Police: “Doncaster Police, together with Robin Hood Airport security services and the airlines, operate a robust disruptive passenger policy.

Inappropriate behaviour by passengers is not tolerated and is swiftly dealt with, to prevent the safety of passengers being compromised.”

A passenger at Doncaster discovered this in March last year, when he claimed he had a grenade in his shoe.

He was arrested and was been banned for life from the airline concerned.
