TERRITORIAL Army soldiers from Doncaster will receive operational service medals at a ceremony at Nostell Priory, Wakefield, this weekend.
Troops from 150 Transport Regiment Royal Logistics Corps' centre in the borough will receive medals tomorrow from Brigadier David Maddan, the top Army officer in charge of the region to mark a six-month tour of duty on Operation Telic in Iraq.
The
soldiers, based at Scarbrough Barracks, Balby, undertook force protection and guarding duties as well as escorting convoys in the country.
The soldiers will be watched by friends and family at the ceremony which will be attended by Lord St Oswald, the Honorary Colonel of the regiment.
"We are extremely proud of them and hope they enjoy the day," said Lieutenant Colonel Gary Bateman, the Regiment's Commanding Officer.
"It also gives us the chance to thank their families who have supported them throughout their training and deployment."
The soldiers from 150 Transport Regiment RLC are Yorkshire's TA transport specialists.
More than 211 of their soldiers have been deployed on operations to Iraq and Afghanistan since 2003.
