DONCASTER College is looking into a permanent memorial to a talented teenage student who died in a car crash last month.
The college has confirmed discussions have started over a permanent remembrance of Rob Mackey.
The announcement comes after students came together to put on a concert to remember Rob.
The 19-year-old, from Bessacarr, was in his first year at Doncaster College's High Melton campus, studying on the National Diploma in Music Technology.
He died on Tuesday April 15 when he was in a car that was involved in a collision on the B1396 Bank End Road near Blaxton.
Students from across the arts spectrum helped put on the three-hour performance, which took place at High Melton's Harvey Theatre on Wednesday and was attended by Rob's family.
Acts taking part included solo singers, bands, musicians and dancers.
The event was split up into two sections - the first for reflection and the second for commemoration.
Messages of remembrance and pictures of Rob were played on a big screen while students and staff were performing.
A college spokesman said: "The event was planned by the students as a memorial for Rob. He was such a well-liked student and got on well with everyone.
"Rob himself was a talented musician and we hope he would have enjoyed the performances put on by his fellow students."
Former Hall Cross School pupil Rob, of St Wilfrid's Road, had been a member of several well-known bands in the borough.
He had also been a successful rugby union player as a child, having played at Twickenham with one of Doncaster Knights junior sides.
Rob died in the car. He was with former Hall Cross School pal Mark Besford, from Westwoodside. They had been travelling to Mark's home at Akeferry Road, Westwoodside.
