THREE pupils of Edlington Hill Top Primary have joined the upper crust!
Abigail Newsome, Chloe Jones and Tyra Devaney created and cooked up their very own pie to pick up a prize ahead of five other local schools in a technology challenge at the Topping Pie Company in Doncaster.

Their winning creation - the Sky High Pie - is made with party sausages, rump steak, onions, peas and topped with short crust pastry with sage

Lynda Povey, general manager at Toppings - themselves award-winning purveyors of pastry - said: "The children really raised the bar this year on taste, quality and standard of marketing materials. It was a very difficult decision, but the Hill Top Primary school entry was top crust."

The winning trio were given a tour of the bakery and helped to manufacture their own recipe pie with help from Maggie Topping.
