DONCASTER Museum took a peek into pre-history on Saturday.
Fossils was the theme of a one-off event at the venue at Chequer Road, which offered the public the chance to bring in their own specimens to be identified by the museums service's experts.

Those who didn't have their own fossils to bring along were offered the opportunity to handle items from the museum's own collection and try their hand at being a palaeontologist by studying them.

Visitors also had a go at designing their own dinosaur, making an ammonite or trilobite - types of prehistoric sea creatures - and completing a fossils quiz.
