Police in drug chase

POLICE recovered £4,000 of drugs and cash after a chase through gardens on a Doncaster estate.
The chase began after officers dealing with a suspected burglary on Tennyson Avenue, Sprotbrough, searched a van in Sainsbury's car park on Sprotborough Road containing three men in their 20s.

As officers searched the car one of the men fled.

e was chased through several gardens until he was discovered hiding in the front garden of a house on Sprotbrough Road.

The man's home address on Tennyson Avenue was searched and £2,000 of cannabis and £2,000 cash were seized.

The owner of the house, a man in his mid 20s who returned as officers were searching the property, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class B drug with intent to supply.

The men were interviewed and released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Acting Sgt Shaun Stead said: "The four officers involved in this acted quickly and professionally to arrest two males involved in drugs activity."
