RAMBLERS have devised a new walking route to link to the Quality Bus Corridor when it opens next week.
The Heron Way, named because of the abundance of herons on the route, is a 30-mile linear walk that can be divided into shorter sections.

It is intended to link with the park and ride facilities at Parrot's Corner, Rossington, and Castle Hills, Sc
awthorpe, for novice or experienced walkers to explore the countryside with or without the use of a car. The Heron Way passes through or near to Rossington, Wadworth, Old Edlington, Clifton, Hickleton, Hooton Pagnell, Pickburn and Highfields with views of historic Conisbrough Castle and Brodsworth Hall.

A Doncaster Ramblers guide booklet with maps, interesting facts and travel information is available from Doncaster tourist information on High Street for £2.

The booklet and route has been compiled by David Ward, who previously developed the Danum Trail, a 70-mile walk circling Doncaster.
