A SCHEME in Doncaster to offer free leisure activities to pensioners is being extended by the council.
Mayor of Doncaster Martin Winter launched the Borough Treasures scheme in May last year and has added 12 extra activities.

Under the scheme free events include ten-pin bowling at the Superbowl, a day at the races, painting lessons at Ladythorpe Ga
llery and discounted theatre and greyhound racing trips.

Mayor Winter said: "It was always my intention to make the Borough Treasures an ongoing scheme and I'm delighted that new businesses have got on board to support this.

"I want older people in Doncaster to make the most of their free time and this scheme does just that."

Vouchers are available at the council's customer service centres, the Mansion House, or the Blue Building, High Street.

Any resident over 60 can join the scheme and enjoy the free offers available by taking proof of age and their identity to one of the above locations.
