DONCASTER'S Frenchgate Centre has appointed a new boss - who says the shopping destination will compete with others across the region.
Mike Pugh, aged 50, becomes the centre's director and brings over 33 years' worldwide experience in retail, hospitality, leisure and shopping centre management to the position.

He has previously worked for Asda and lived and worked in Germany, Den
mark, Bulgaria and completed projects in France, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Kenya, Brunei, Falklands and Ascension Island.

Most recently, Mike worked for Cushman and Wakefield as Director of Mall Varna, a new retail and leisure complex in Bulgaria, which opened its doors in June.

He says he is committed to raising the profile of Frenchgate Shopping and the run-up to Christmas will be an especially exciting time for the centre with new store openings and a host of festive activity.

He said: "It's great to be back in the UK. and I'm very excited about the opportunities for Frenchgate Shopping.

"I'm working with a great management team here and I'm committed to ensuring that Frenchgate shoppers receive the very best customer care, from the first customer in the morning to the last at night, seven days a week.

"We have a first-class line-up of shops and restaurants at Frenchgate and, through our strong professional working relationships, we will compete on a regional basis whilst enjoying strong partnerships with the local community.

"It's an especially exciting time of the year to be appointed as centre director and I'm looking forward to making Frenchgate Shopping a magical, festive shopping destination this Christmas."
