STAR trombonist Dennis Rollins and other alumni of the Doncaster Youth Jazz Orchestra return to their roots tonight when they play a concert at Doncaster Minster to celebrate two anniversaries.
Tonight's Jubilee Jazz Concert marks the Doncaster Youth Jazz Association's 35th anniversary and this year also sees the minster itself celebrate its 150th birthday.

The association was formed in 1973 by John Ellis, who has received an MBE for his
role bringing jazz to the young people of Doncaster.

As well as Dennis, former DJYO members pianist Andy Vinter, trumpeter Mark White and trombonist Peter Beachill, who all have thriving careers in the music industry, will be coming home to make guest appearances.

Dennis, who grew up in Bentley and now lives in Bawtry, said: "DJYA is my second home!

"A home that years ago nurtured my jazz instincts and a home that today continues to lay the foundation for many of Doncaster's young jazz musicians.

"I'm proud to be a part of its 35th anniversary celebrations."
