MILLENNIUM volunteers will be honoured tomorrow at Doncaster Minster.
A group of 12 youngsters have created a three panelled mosaic based on the theme of love for the church as part of the Millennium volunteers programme of activities in Doncaster for 2008.
Debbie Price, the Minster's heritage access worker, said the church was thrilled to be involved with the youngsters.
She added: "The group came into the Minster over a period of 10 weeks and it was wonderful to see not only the piece of art work grow but to witness the confidence and self-esteem that each member of the group developed whilst working on their particular piece of the project - the result is amazing and they should be proud."
The Minster is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. The mosaic will be exhibited in the Minster over the next few months as the latest event in its celebrations.
The church has received £147,000 from English Heritage and the Heritage Lottery Fund to pay for repairs to the south porch roof, gutters, drainage and glazing and for a survey of the tower.
The Minster was built between 1854 and 1858 by Sir George Gilbert Scott and is one of Doncaster's best known landmarks.
The existing building replaced a medieval church on the site which was destroyed by fire.
The presentation will take place at 4.30pm tomorrow at St George House.
