PEOPLE who might be shy about doing fitness workouts in front of other people are being offered a new exercise area at the Doncaster Dome.
A brand new fitness suite catering for everyone from youngsters to the elderly has its own unit in the gym away from the main area, making new members feel more comfortable.
The facility is aimed at exercise-shy individuals and those who have been
referred by a GP to regain their fitness or recover from injuries or illness, due to the added privacy and easy-to-use equipment.
The Dome's special facilities have enabled young people from the age of 13 to use the dedicated area, addressing results of the latest figures which showed that three in 10 boys and girls are classed as either overweight or obese.
General manager Michael Hart said: "The focused space is ideal for those new to exercise or who would like to get back into fitness."
Over 55s can register for a "vital membership" from £15.95 a month to use the all areas of the gym, on an off-peak basis, and young people between the age of 13 and 16 can attend on a casual basis for £1.60 a session.
