A DONCASTER warehouseman was found dead at his Arksey home just days after he was treated at hospital with self-inflicted wounds.
Imran Rahman, aged 33, was found hanged in a utility room next to his kitchen on Monday by pal and work supervisor Craig Norman.
He had become depressed over the last couple of months and started to self harm, Mr Norman told an inquest in Doncaste
r.
Mr Rahman, known as Immie to his friends, had been working at the Sel Imperial warehouse at Cross Bank in Balby.
In a statement, Mr Norman said: "About two months ago he told me he was depressed and self harming by cutting his arm with a blade. I encouraged him to get help.
"I'm aware that in the last month he has split up with his girlfriend."
The inquest heard that last week Mr Norman had received a video message from Mr Rahman on his mobile phone showing him with a deep cut to his arm. He later rang and said he was at a friend's house at Woodfield Plantation.
Mr Norman took him to hospital for treatment to the wounds which had been inflicted with glass.
Afterwards, he dropped him off at his home at Almholme Lane, Arksey, but later received a text from Mr Rahman saying he wanted to be on his own.
Mr Norman became concerned and travelled to his house where he found the keys in the door. The neighbours had not seen him, so he entered to house to look for him.
He found him hanged and called for an ambulance.
Doncaster's deputy coroner Peter Gore said there were no suspicious circumstances and Mr Rahman had left a note which indicated he planned to take his own life.
Recording a verdict that he had killed himself, Mr Gore said: "He intended to take his own life and it is very sad for all those who are related to him or had come into contact with him that he should end his life in this way."
His body is to be flown to his parents in the United Arab Emirates for burial.
