Crews douse tyres blaze

FLAMES and black smoke from a pile of burning tyres could be seen from a Doncaster motorway before the blaze was put out by fire crews early today.
Thorne firefighters spent around an hour, from 1.30am, dousing flames from the 30 tyres which had been ignited by the side of the A614 near Thorne and were giving off a large amount of smoke.

The same crew was also called to the car park behind The Harlequin pub in King Edward Road, Thorne, where an old settee had been deliberately torched.
