LUXURY cruises in the Caribbean will be starting off from Doncaster this winter thanks to new flight options from Robin Hood Airport.
And holidaymakers from South Yorkshire can add a voyage on one of the world's newest cruise liners to their itinerary, thanks to extra scheduled flights announced this week.

More than 100 people have already booked for their winter cruise with a D
oncaster departure.

Passengers heading for the Caribbean can join the new 115,000 ton Azura cruise liner as part of a continuing link-up with P&O Cruises.

Cruise-goers can also fly from Doncaster Sheffield Airport to Bridgetown in Barbados to join liners Ventura and Oceana, as part of another set of newly scheduled 15-night fly cruises for winter 2010/11.

More than 650 people across the region flocked to the recent cruise show at Robin Hood Airport to find out more about the fly cruise programme, which resulted in 115 passengers booking on the day.

Visitors were given expert advice from cruise operators about itineraries available from the airport to the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, .

Jodi Stow, marketing and communications manager at Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield, said: "The Cruise Show, held in conjunction with Thomson and First Choice travel agencies was a great success.

"The fly-cruise programme from the Airport is growing year on year, and due to its continued success, P&O Cruises have launched these five new cruises, with more expected to follow. The fact that 115 passengers confirmed a booking on the day is a fantastic result.

"We are always looking to add to the locations we reach and the passengers we can attract to the airport and we are delighted to be able to offer cruise goers from South Yorkshire the opportunity to experience Azura directly from their local airport."
