A DONCASTER schoolgirl who is battling cancer met some of the country's hottest soap stars – thanks to a children's charity.
Megan Kershaw, aged 12, of Mission, chatted to Coronation Street heart-throb Ryan Thomas, who plays builder Jason Grimshaw, his co-star Tina O'Brien, who was Sarah Platt in the soap, and former Brookside actress Jennifer Ellison at Centre Parcs in Nottinghamshire.

The trip was organised by charity Wish Upon a Star which arranges treats for sick youngsters. The South Axholme School pupil is currently undergoing chemotherapy for a liver cancer so rare only one in two billion children suffer from it.

She was joined by younger sister Bronwen for the trip.

During the summer Megan showed her determination to fight the disease by taking part in a 5km charity run for Doncaster's Aurora Centre.
