The villagers of Auckley will be able to toast their annual show with a drop of special beer.

The organising committee celebrated 12 months of planning with the launch of their very own Auckley Show Stopper Ale at The Eagle and Child.

It will be on sale at Saturday's event which celebrates its 24th year on its present site at Riverside Park.

It is being opened by Don Valley MP Caroline Flint and Deputy Chair of Council, Barbara Hoyle, at 12pm on Saturday.

Chairman Neil Woodward said: "This year promises to be one of the best. We are looking forward to showcasing for Doncaster our Sensory Zone which is adapted for people with special needs and disabilities."

Attractions at the free entry show include craft stalls, charity and local organisation stalls, children's entertainment, sports events and a car boot sale. There is also a fancy dress parade, show jumping, a duck race on the nearby River Torne and ferret racing.
