DONCASTER Rovers chairman John Ryan wants to see those fans who wanted manager Sean O'Driscoll replaced last season, to eat a slice of humble pie at Sunday's Open Day at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Ryan had the idea of having a big pie made for the Open Day for everyone who doubted the club and it's management when it became clear that Rovers had a good chance of making it to the Championship.

Said Ryan: "My big job at the Open Day is to cut the humble pie, made by Topping's of Doncaster, the widely acclaimed pie manufacturers.

"I ordered the pie well before it became apparent we would be either going up automatically or via the play-offs; such was the confidence I had in the management and team. And, of course, I had the dream of playing Leeds United at Wembley in the play-off final and beating them.

"The pie is nowhere near the size of the world-famous Denby Dale pie of many years ago, but big enough to get my message across to the early and then mid-season doubters.

"We had a slow start to the season. But we could all see the quality of the football being played each week and we didn't always have the rub of the green.

"I do not bear grudges so I would like any doubters who feared the worst to come and sample a little piece of pie with me around 12.30pm Sunday lunchtime when I cut into it. May I also thank Lynda Povey of Topping's for her continued sponsorship of the media room on match days and for helping set up Sunday."

The Supporters' Club are holding their AGM at the Park Hotel tonight. They are running coaches to friendlies (call (07740453066 or 817347).
