SETTLING for second spot in the second round, Doncaster cycling ace Kevin Dawson was crowned National Time Trial Series champion after the final round in Northampton.
Dawson could only have been beaten to the title by Lancashire-based Mark Holton, but he pulled out of the final race with a stomach bug.

Dawson had a similar ailment, but chose to ride to wrap up another good season.

The Blaxton-based former B
ritish Best All-Rounder was beaten by Preston Wheelers' Jimmy Wright, but consistency was the key to victory.

Dawson has only failed to get on the podium three times from the eight events, and was never lower than sixth. His best five rides count.

"I didn't really need to ride it, because Mark didn't take part. But it was good to end the series with a ride."
