DONCASTER Rovers Belles, who have yet to field their strongest side during pre-season, posted a 3-1 home win over Northern Division outfit Newcastle United.
Tanya Rich netted from close range for the opener, but United, who finished strongly last season, hit back to level the scores before the interval.

The game remained finely poised until the last quarter when a concerted spell of pressure by Belles
saw them score twice in quick succession.

England international Vicky Exley finished off a neat move to fire Belles back in front from 10 yards and then Sam Kitchen headed in from a cross from Natasha Hughes.

Doncaster Rovers Belles: Barraclough, Hughes, Leat, Williams, Utley, Turner, Heckler, Exley, Rich, Dickens, Hamilton.Subs used: Owen (Dickens 45), Kitchen (Rich 70), Kendell ( Leat 80).
