Battling Boston shows true grit

DONCASTER driver Rob Boston secured two top-ten finishes at Snetterton at the weekend in rounds 13 and 14 of the ELF Renault Clio Cup.
A total novice at the beginning of the season, and in his first year of racing, Boston started Saturday's race in eleventh place on the grid.

Once the race had got underway, he steered his Double Six Racing-sponsored car through the field - something which has become something of a habit as the season has progressed - and at one stage held down sixth spot.

His progress was checked by a little spin on the wet track at the esses and he rejoined the race in fourteenth place.

But with grit and determination he battled his way back up to tenth by the chequered flag, clocking a time of 28 minutes 35 seconds for the 19-lap race.

Totally focused on improving his placing the following day, Boston once again scythed his way up through the field after starting in 12th place and came home in seventh place in a time of 24 min 47secs.

Boston has had an outstanding first year in the sport and has earned respect from a number of more battle-hardened drivers.

He is hoping to compete again next year and is currently looking for sponsorship.

Anyone interested in sponsoring Boston, either for a race or the whole season, should contact Marc Nelson by email marc@doublesixracing.com.
