RADIO presenter and comic Toby Foster has landed a plum role in the new British film Snappers - which has already hit the headlines with the news that star Joss Stone will have a lesbian kiss in it.
"They're talking about it as the next Four Weddings and a Funeral," says Toby, who starts filming on the English Riviera in Torbay on Monday.
He plays a paparazzo - a freelance cameraman who stalks celebrities including the character played by Jo
ss Stone - but he's not giving up the day job.
Toby will be presenting his daily morning show on BBC Radio Sheffield from the studios of Radio Devon.
"I'm having to spend two days learning from an expert how to use the camera because they have to be handled in a certain way," he says.
"I play one of two cameramen and I've got the comic lines," adds Tony, who very nearly missed the chance to be in it.
The film, which also stars Caroline Quentin of Blue Murder, Phil Middlemiss of Coronation Street and Matt Milburn of Hollyoaks, is a comic romp set in a holiday camp where singer Joss plays a bingo caller.
What do you think? Post your comments below. It's written by Archie Kelly, one of the cast of Phoenix Nights (he plays Henry Senior) with Toby.
"I was at my brother-in-law's 40th birthday party dressed as a joker when Archie rang me to ask for a number.
"He said he couldn't believe I didn't want to be in the film. I didn't know about it. I had missed the e-mail. I got the job the next day."
Sadly Toby, who plays snapper Ady, doesn't get to kiss anyone in the film.
"But I do get to sit in a lap dance club and a cage full of monkeys," he laughs.
His part will be filmed over four weeks from next Monday and the plan is to present the show from devon for the first week at least.
But Toby may well be away from the microphone on some mornings after that.
"It's my first film part," says Toby, who is known nationally for his part as Les the drummer in Phoenix Nights.
In fact, he's so keen on the film he has bought a two per cent stake in it.
It won't affect his compering the Last Laugh Comedy Club back in Sheffield at the Memorial Hall on Friday nights.
"I have had it written into my contract I won't have to film then," he says.
