TIME for all those jokes again about rolling out the barrel and barrel of laughs - the Great Kinder Beer Barrel Challenge is looming.
On Saturday, September 13, Edale will be full of brawny blokes lugging barrel of beer and, later in the day, swigging from them.

Around a dozen teams will attempt to carry the barrels from the Snake Inn on the A57 across to the Old Nag's Head Edale - three miles as the crow flies but with hills of up to 900 feet in between.

The winning team gets the contents of the barrel.

It started in 1998 when a customer at the Edale pub complained it had run out of his favourite beer and offered to collect it himself from the Snake.

He did, with a team of helpers, and got the contents for free.

Teams haul the barrels on ladders, sleds and by ropes.

The event raises money for local good causes.
