There's an intriguing little exhibition of Sheffield postcards at the Central Library, Surrey Street.
First Past the Post records the history of the city and its postcards, some of them enlarged for a display in the foyer.
And there are plenty
more on display on the first floor.
It's been compiled by youngsters with the Youth Association of South Yorkshire.
They have used the images and messages on the other side for projects.
They were the early Twentieth Century's equivalent of e-mails.
"Dear Luke: I saw Ethel on Sat eve, she said she was looking for you on Friday eve but she didn't see you," reads one message.
