IT'S not chemicals, it really will be the smell of freshly baked bread on stage during
Sheffield Teachers' production of the Baker's Wife musical at the Montgomery Hall.
The piece is set in France in the Thirties so, ever the sticklers for ac
curacy, the group called on Castle College's student bakery department to bake them half a dozen varieties of loaves.
"They've given us the flour and some free tickets and we'll be baking for them twice," says lecturer Chris North, who looked up the recipes.
The show is on from May 8-10.
