YOU can take the girl out of antiques but you can't take antiques out of the girl.
That's what they're saying about Bronwen Stone. She and her hubby John Pedder, former bass guitarist with top Indie band Baby Bird, have re-opened their antiques shop.

"We can't keep away. It's just fun," says Bronwen.

Four years ago she closed Antics on Abbeydale Road because "it was no longer the centre of the antiques universe."

Now it's reopened with the same name on Ecclesall Road, opposite Endcliffe Park, a bright green building formerly known as Nest.

The couple, who had been dabbling in French knick-knacks known as brocante, had to go out and buy a whole shedload of stock.

"English and continental antiques, a real mix suitable for modern interiors," says Bronwen. Her favourite item is a Simpsons' fruit machine. "It burps and grunts instead of ringing a bell."
