THE new national bus passes for the over-60s are helping to spread the word of the Lord.
Sheffield's very own religious bannerman, octogenarian Ced Cocker (pictured) is making full use of his on his travels around the country.
"I'm travelling one day a week. I take the National Express to, say Nottingham or Loughborough, then use my pass from there," he tells the Diary on his more usual city centre beat.
Mush-tomb walk ORGANISED strolls are always going on at Sheffield's General Cemetery, off Ecclesall Road, but the one on Sunday, October 12, might raise a few eyebrows.
Steve Clements and Neil Barden are leading a mushroom and toadstool hunt among the tombstones.
Some 40 different species have been spotted there including, wait for it, Dead Man's Fingers. Meet at the gatehouse at 12.30pm.
Roll back years HOW To Be On TV – the Diary's famous feature. The Channel Four show 10 Years Younger is looking for more volunteers to knock a decade off their age.
They'll update your wardrobe, straighten those teeth, add flair to your hair and return the youthful glow to your skin.
If you fancy sharpening your style, with or without the knife, call 0121 224 8381 or email 10yearsyounger@ mavericktv.co.uk to apply.
